May 11- Copenhagen

After a breakfast of granola and yogourt in the Airbnb, we headed out to walk and visit the famous Little Mermaid. It was only 9:45 when we got there the tour buses were already starting to arrive. We got to see the site, take pictures, and leave before the masses arrived.

We walk through some barracks and military buildings on our way to the next stop.

Lake or pond near the windmill

We then walked to the Art Gallery that we read was free to enter only to find out when we get there that there is a fee and it is fairly expensive. We nix that idea and continue on to the Botanical Gardens. There is no fee to get in and it's quite nice. It's early in the season so of course a lot of the flowers are not out yet.

Some flowers were in bloom

The Swans were having fun hanging out together

Nice spot for a rest

We then walk to Stroget street. It is a pedestrian only area that has very popular stores so many shoppers are walking there. We were hungry at this time so we found a sandwich place and ordered to take out. We sit near a fountain and people watch for a bit.

The guards here are a bit strange

Nyhavn again

Lovely store with artificial roses representing every piece sold in their store. So cool.

It's getting later so we stop to buy some cheese and bread to go along with salads that we had bought the day before. We are still a little way from our "home" and we've walked a lot today so we decide to take a cab back. When we are sitting around we decide that we will take a taxi to the quay in the morning. Because we don't have a phone Shirley and I walk over to the corner store and ask the guy there if he would call us a cab in the morning. He says yes so transportation should be fine.
The Airbnb is disappointing. The bathroom stinks and seems to have mold or at least black dirt along the baseboards, the towels and sheets are old and thin, the light switches don't work but luckily there are lamps. Most of the outlets are also out of commission. It is in a good location, but other than that, it was not what I expected.
