Colours are lighter with the naked eye.
The ladies doing their thing.
A cruise ship probably headed to Cozumel.
After breakfast we got ready to go to Mayakoba resort where a PGA tournament, the OHL Classic, is being held. We decided to take a local but which dropped us off on the highway. It's only about 10 minutes from Playa del Carmen. We entered and walked towards the club house. We wanted to pay to get in but after asking three different people, the third worker said that since we were already in we didn't have to worry about paying. Ok. It wasn't expensive, only a little over $6 US each anyway. So we head out to find a group to follow. The top players in the world are not here but we did see Jim Furyk, Camillo Villegas, Luke Donald, and a few more familiar faces. I was a little miffed as I had checked the website to see what we could and could not bring. Not allowed: backpack, food and
drinks, chair, umbrella, camera, and more. So of course we abided by the rules. Well, we should have remembered that this is Mexico. Lots of people had backpacks, their own water bottles, some were taking pictures, as long as it wasn't when the golfers were hitting. So I will not be posting pictures as we didn't have our cameras, not phones.
It was so hot that as soon as we got back it was a quick change of clothes, a walk to the beach, and a dip in the ocean. We did not have lunch so after our showers we will head out to see where we will end up tonight.
We went to an ItaliN restaurant tonight. I ordered a veggie pizza and Ron ordered the lasagna only to be told the lasagna wouldn't be ready. Ok, so Ron takes the Fettucini Bolognese. Before our meal arrived, two young boys came around to sing to us. Well, it wasn't the same serenade as the other night. These two were pulling a fast one as neither boy could hold a note. Anyway I took a quick picture and Ron gave them a few pesos which is what they were after. Our meal was coming up when the lights started to flicker and then it stayed dark. The waiter found a few candles and that is how we ate. The electricity never did come back on. After eating we were going to hang out in the square but it was so dark that we decided to return to our room hoping that they had a generator here. Well it turns out that only half of the town is in the dark, this end is fine. It sounds like there was an accident that took the lines down. So now we are in for the night and Ron has found a televised basketball game with Spanish commentators. Should be fun.
Our two serenaders.
A weird looking Ron eating by candle light
My veggie pizza. Not sure why the pictures turned out so dark but that's it for tonight.
