Playa Flamingo on the mountain side.
Playa Flamingo beach. Our doesn't have chairs and parasols for rent.
Ron getting ready to ride the wave.
That little patch of black/grey is Ron's hair.
It takes another hour to walk back. This time we watch on the road instead of walking the beach to see if we are missing anything. We are not missing a thing. We stop at our local fruit and vegetable market to get more limes, tomatoes, and avocados. He charges us a bit more today. I don't think that he likes to give change as he offers us an apple to make up the price. No thanks. He gives us a few coins and we are off.
One side of the market. He just got a delivery so fresher herbs, limes, and much more.
The other side of the market.
We have a quick dip in our pool before having lunch. The water is cooler than the ocean.
We return home for some home made guacamole and nachos. As we are sitting inside we see that has started raining. It did not last but the clouds are definitely here announcing the incoming storm. People around here don't seem too concerned. Hopefully they are right.
We hung out reading this afternoon, me on the deck outside and Ron inside on the couch. That says a lot about the two of us-one likes the outdoors rain or shine and one likes to lie on the couch reading and/or watching tv. Around 6 we decide to get ready to go out for supper. We end up at La Perla. It's wing night Nd we take. Chance and lace an order to share. We start by sharing a Greek salad. It's really good. Nice beginning. The wings ms fries arrivé and the wings are amazing. Big and hot. Fries have cheese and jalapenos on them. Might as well have lots of heat in the whole meal. It's a busy place. Lots of tvs with sports but also a huge screen playing video clips of good music. There is a DJ also as I believe it is Karaoke night. We decide not to hang out when we are done. It is quite dark on the way home so we brought a flashlight as the roads are narrow and there's no sidewalk only bushes, trees and ditches. Still not sure about the hurricane heading this way. It could miss us or have a direct hit. We will certainly get lots of wind, just how much. The rain event is mostly on the Carribean side of the island. We'll see tomorrow.
Good night.
Be careful - there is a tropical storm warning for your area!
ReplyDeleteAreas from central Panama to southern Honduras and El Salvador will be at an elevated risk for life-threatening flash and urban flooding and mudslide.
ReplyDeleteWinds will be strong enough near the center of the storm and in clusters of thunderstorms farther away from the center to cause sporadic property damage and power outages later this week.
