It doesn’t look too bad, but it was.
Our next stop was Catalbellotta. It has the remains of a castle - Castello del Conte Luna, a Norman castle built in the 13 hundreds. The town itself is 950 m above sea level, and the castle is much higher. The challenge today was the weather. The winds were gusting to 60 or 70 km/hr and it was raining off and on. When we finally decided to give it a go, luckily most of the heavy winds were at the very beginning and on the opposite side of were we were climbing.

Steep stairs
We really enjoyed the views but the winds were howling on our way down.
We continued on our way to Sciacca. This city is a working, busy port. There is a lot of ceramic production and we had good sightings everywhere. But first, we were hungry as it was now 2 pm. Breakfast was at 8:30. We didn’t want a big lunch so we stopped at a small café, bar, gelateria. We all had an Arancine with ham and cheese and then we had to have a gelato in a brioche. It’s seems to be the way to eat it over here.
Arancine has rice, ham, and cheese
Gelato in a brioche. So filling. Ron and I shared one with strawberry and chocolate flavours.
André and Wendy had pistachio and chocolate.
We then were refuelled so off we went in search of a few adventures.
Ceramic tiles
The staircases were beautiful
Fishing nets
This guy had lots of escargots.
Cute little art display
Great views of the port area from above

Our final destination is now in our sights. We have about 1 hr of driving. We arrive in Marsala around 4:30 and find our Airbnb and get settled. We then walk around town for a few hours and then it’s supper time.
Having Marsal Port at the end of our meal. The owner offered it to us.
A stroll in the park
Doors leading into Marsala
Tagliere as a starter for the four of us.
The Cathedral in the square. This picture does not do it justice. It was massive.
Another door
We return to our rental around 9:30. Bedtime soon. Another visiting day tomorrow.
